On the 13th of July, we had Visual Design class in the morning in which we learnt about design thinking and the analysation of different images. Firstly, through rearranging letters in words, we were asked to come up with new words. From this, we learnt to bend rules and be creative and think out-of-the-box which is a skill that would help us a lot in the future. Then, we made a 'Get Well card' for Ailsa who had been under the weather by drawing our favourite animals on pieces of paper and then combining them into a larger piece of paper to form the cover of the card. Mr. Bill Scott told us to draw directly with a marker and not a pencil, through this we learnt to have confidence in ourselves and not to be afraid to take the first step because we may be able to create more than we could have ever realized. Finally, each group was given a photo to observe and analyse. We learnt to read and interpret deeper meanings between the lines by organizing and separating simple things that we can observe. After lunch, we had neuroscience class. We knew nothing about neuroscience before so we were very interested in the topic, but we talked about neuroscientists and what they do as well as how neuroscience affects our lives. It was really a fun and interesting discussion and we felt very engaged and learnt about the topic effectively.

On 14th of July, we attended a class about environmental science and climate change. We learnt to differentiate weather and climate and identify different causes of greenhouse effect which result an increasing trend of carbon activity in the atmosphere. Through the teacher's elaborate explanations, we learnt to interpret different geographical graphs and charts which gave us a very specific and accurate idea of how human activities affect the climate. In the end, we split into groups and each group came up with different solutions to combat climate change and reduce air pollution in Hong Kong, it was really interesting to listen to and understand others' opinions and perspectives. It was a really fun and effective way of learning.

On 15th of July, we went to Great America, a theme park in California. There are lots of thrilling rides and a big water park there. All of us were separated into 2 groups, dare devils and small roller coasters. In our group, 2 of us were dare devils , while the others were all small roller coasters. We followed our groups and went on the rides. As most of the rides are quite exciting and thrilling, some of us were scared and did not dare to ride on the roller coasters. But later on, we started to try out some less exciting rides and eventually moved out to more intensive thrilling rides. All of us enjoyed the day we spent in Great America. We have learnt to step out of our comfort zone, and try to explore new things. Once we have tried it, we realized it is actually not that difficult and everyone can do it. Believe in yourself and you're a step closer to success.
