We went to the Great America and had lots of fun there. Most of us in our house went to Boomerang Bay, the water park, and enjoyed the facilities there. We haven't been to such a large-scale water park before, and we were all amazed and engaged in different parts of activities and took a lot of beautiful pictures. This is memorable because we might not have any opportunities in the future to enjoy facilities in the park with our friends in the future due to time constraints. We felt blessed to have our counsellors and teachers who accompanied us to Great America, and took care of us throughout the day. At night we had our long-awaited free time, and our group went out to take different fabulous pictures in landmarks in the campus of Stanford University.



We took a leadership course in the morning which was a fascinating experience. Unlike any dull classes, our professor played lots of interactive games with us. These activities kept all of us energetic and powered up. We have learnt lots of leadership skills especially in communication and dealing with disputes with people. We believe that these strategies will benefit us in the future. In the afternoon, we took a visual arts course with Professor Bill. We did lots of activities such as model building with marshmellows and spaghetti. These interesting experiences arose our interests in arts, especially in manipulating daily life items with creativity. We learnt how to look at the world in different perspectives that is really useful in our future where creativity is becoming more and more important. In the evening, it was a wonderful multi-cultural night with our new friends from different countries. Through various events such as cultural booths, performances and dances,this amazing experience has widen our horizons and most importantly, we have learnt lots of cultures and made many new friends in spite of our differences. We believe that we can create a harmonious society in this Global Village.



We had a lesson about mock trial in the morning. We were divided into two groups, the plaintiffs and the defenders and fight for justice. Both teams tried their best to protect the witnesses and questioned those who on the other side. It was our first time participating in a mock trial and all of us enjoyed it a lot. Afterwards, we had a lesson about artificial intelligence. We played the game lightbot and designed our own chatbot. It's interesting to figure out and learn about new technologies available nowadays. In the evening, we discussed about our global project of designing an island. All of us had a great time communicating with top students from other countries such as Singapore, China and Brazil. We could learn about others' policies and came up with fabulous ideas. After all, our progress was quite good.

July 13th Melanie Ip Janet Lee Dorothy Ma Christine Lum   We attended a visual design class with Bill Scott and together created a get well soon card for our friend. Rather than copying the pictures directly from the internet, we were encouraged to be imaginative. We modified our original drawings of animals and stuck it onto the card. Furthermore, we were instructed to use pen instead of pencils. We learnt that making mistakes is a part of life and we should not be intimidated by this fact. After, we played a game where we rearranged letters, from an original word and made different words from it, sone in different languages. We also had neuroscience after that and we learnt more about that subject as most of us didnt have any idea of what it is. We also learnt many interesting topics regarding neuroscience and we were all intrigued. After classes we prepared for multicultural night. Group4 Reflection

July 16th Melanie Ip Greta Lam Janet Lee Christine Lum Dorothy Ma We went on a field trip to San Francisco Bay Area where we spent most of our day. First we took a 2 hour bus tour around the city. During the tour we got to see the whole city of San Francisco and listened to the brief history of the city told by the tour guide. The Golden Gate Bridge was also a highlight of the bus tour. The wind was exceptionally strong and we can rarely experience it anywhere else. We also took a few photos before we continued our trip. We also had two hours of free time after the bus tour, so that we could walk around Fisherman's Wharf. We had a great lunch of seafood, soup and bread and it was delicious. There was also a large number of shops in the Fisherman's Wharf. Since we had some time left we shopped around and bought some souvenirs. Another great thing that we had the chance to see sea lions. We rarely see them in hk except in ocean park and it was a great exoerience for us...

Today is such a special Wednesday! We had a field trip with packed activities. In the morning, we played iFly, a memorable experience with professional instruct. After that, we even learned some physics principles to give a detailed explanation of our flight. We really took a lot from such exciting and unforgettable activity which we could never have back in Hong Kong! After lunch, we had a talk on the administration of Standford University and we learned about the detailed information for application of the university. The Stanford University is such a beautiful place, we really hope that we can continue our study there. In the evening, we had a bonfire. The sunset was magical, we had loads and loads of pictures there. It has been a pity that we did not get ourselves some smores, but it was surely a precious experience to enjoy the view and the weather!
