In the morning, we finally had our mock trial lesson after days of preparation. We were so excited about it as we had put in a lot of effort for the lesson. The teacher gave us a brief introduction about the US court system and some preparation time for us to make some last-minute discussion for the case. Time flies, 70-minute-trial past in the blink of an eye. We have learnt from it. We have learnt to analyse testimonies and our critical thinking skills. The students being the lawyers had to poke holes in the witnesses' testimony and challenge them during cross-examination, while the students being the witnesses need to be very familiar with their testimony in order not to be challenged. Our public speaking skills have definitely improved a lot after the trial. We look forward to having similar lesson in the future!
In the afternoon, we had artificial intelligence class. It was a fun and interesting class in which we learnt about the history of artificial intelligence and the various definitions of it. We then learnt about programming and played a game called LightBot 2.0 in which we learnt to control and used various cues on the keyboard to make our robot act upon our commands. Finally, we designed a program by ourselves individually in which we can have a conversation with a robot and learnt a lot more about designing programs as we can have a first-hand experience at designing programs.
