This morning we had Mathematical Logic lesson. We learnt
about the golden ratio and the equation for it. We can apply this ratio in our
daily lives, such as the logo design of Apple. We also had some activities
linked to isometry, which are reflection, translation and rotation. During the
lesson, we found that maths can be solved in various ways, which can be
interesting. We tried to solve the problems in group and we exchanged ideas and
inspired each other. This has been a really fun experience and we enjoyed a
lot.
After lunch we had the
environmental science lesson. We focused mainly on climate change. The
professor first introduced what is climate, and how climate affects our daily
lives. We also learned about the causes of climate change. Then we had some
activities. We performed an experiment to show the effects of carbon dioxide on
rise in temperature. Although we were not too successful, we discussed about
the reasons and learned from failure. We also did some discussion and
interpretation in groups and presented them. Besides learning the knowledge of
environmental science, we also practised on our skills of communication. We all
benefited a lot.
After dinner, we went to the French House for the Global
Solution Project. We discussed about the global issues with groupmates from
different coutries. Everyone was full of creativity and flowing with wonderful
ideas. We made up the history of our island which is a fascinating story. For
our individual parts, we made use of the knowledge learnt in the lesson today
as well which was about solutions to
climate change. The most unforgettable thing is definitely working with those
lovely groupmates. We were pleased with our progress today.
